Herne Bay Central Beach

During the summer months Herne Bay beach is gorgeous snapshot of the timeless essence that is the British seaside. With ample room along the long stretch of shore, visitors can choose to be close to the town and attractions or walk further down the promenade towards Reculver for some peace and privacy. Popular with dog walkers, The Strand provides spectacular views of the sunset over the horizon.

Along the beach front visitors will find many of Herne Bay’s best attractions. The pier has changed its face numerous times over the years and currently provides a funfair experience with numerous rides for little ones and an assortment of carnival games. The local favourite, The Telly-go-round, is a classic example of Herne Bay’s recent past. A quirky mechanical marvel that parades some of childrens television’s best loved characters, locals large and small are bound to be familiar with this odd but charming contraption.

Herne Bay’s beachfront is famous for its selection of traditional arcades. From penny pushers to claw machines these lively fun houses are a smash hit with children. Sandancers Amusements is a local favourite in the town due to its friendly staff, miniature golf course, ice cream stall and lunch bar. Poised perfectly opposite the beach itself the arcade provides great memories and much needed respite from the sun on those extra hot days.
