About Beach Creative Community Arts Centre
The Beach Creative Community Arts Centre is a pioneering local engagement in the arts throughout Herne Bay. With its mantra of inclusivity, the venue has been a beacon for those wishing to dip their toes into a new hobby and teach themselves skills they never thought they’d have.
Located a short walk from the Heron’s Leisure Centre and Kavanagh Cinema, the centre is the town’s hub of studios, galleries, meeting rooms, and workshop space. As a community venture it is operated on a near 100% volunteer workforce, this speaks wonders for the passion and time that has clearly been poured into the venue.
The Darkroom based at the Beach Creative is a black and white dark room offering excellent classes for all ages and abilities. The Darkroom has run two rounds of a Bronze Arts Award course to help young people gain an accredited qualification. Services and classes here include 35mm tuition, 120 film tuition, film developing services and digitalisation, pinhole camera workshops, Cynanotype workshops and Photogram workshops. Run by Emily Rose Parris, The Darkroom is a unique venture that’s well worth checking out for anyone interested in photography.
The TOAST café within the Beach Creative offers simple healthy food at a reasonable price. A lovely escape from the busy town centre, the café serves up great coffee and fruit juices to enjoy whilst viewing artwork or participating in one of the many workshops available at the venue.
For those interested in partaking in the events at the Beach Creative, or perhaps keen on hiring gallery space to display their own work, get in touch through email, phone or web portal.
